I've just got to finish the ends of the trim, then add grommets, make sure the straps are in exactly the right place, sew them down, add the shoulder rolls and loops, and make/attach the skirt. AHHHHHH!
Help me decide
I've got a dilema on the style of trim to use on my bodice...I've got a poll over at my live journal page. Help
Camera is AWOL
I have a little update, got the front of the bodice put togeather...I'd have a picture, but my camera has gone AWOL. I'm betting it's hiding out in Chris' laptop bag...again. I just got a message back from Chris...it is.
I'm taking a tip from Sempstress.org ( http://www.sempstress.org/resources/tips.shtml ) the last "Tip" at the bottom... I've stitched near the edge. I'm not going to iron velvet...besides, I don't have a velvet board.
Eyelets
Eyelets are done, but I think I made the two on the top of the corset body too far to the armscye for my flabby arms...so I just need to make 2 more a little more center front, and a little bigger to get the ribbon through easier, and I'll get photos up. Probably Wednesday or so...Chris has the camera with him out in Sweden until Tuesday...he better bring cool viking jewelry home for me...it's the only thing I asked him for, well, that and photos of the backs of any dresses he sees in museums if he gets the chance. I don't really care that the Sweeds have actually been in Sweeden for longer than the viking period...several museums were listed as 1800s, I can find stuff like that down the street at the Henry Ford...You can't find Viking stuff around here, that's what I want to see...OLD history...and not buffalos, seed bead embroidery and arrowheads. I think that if given the chance to move to western europe or the UK, I'd take it. Mom will just have to move with me. I long for a place with architecture that's been around for more than 200 years. I want to live someplace that's been around longer than the camera. Possibly in a new construction home, but inhabited for a long time. It's not like I'm going to go without water and toilets, I'm crazy not stupid. *sigh*
