    Break

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008, 02:09 PM [General]

I needed to take a break and get away from the sewing machines for a minute.  Mom has CJ for the afternoon so I can work on my dress. Yesterday I finished the neckline edge of the smock at work, by hand. Last night, I finished attaching the straps, and I sewed the skirt panels togeather. Today I got some more black velveteen so I can do the guards and the front. I washed it and attached the trim to the front guards and attached the guards to the front of the skirt pieces. Now I need to attach the skirt to the bodice. After trying on the bodice the other night, I discovered that it is touching in the back, so I'm going to do hook and eyes up the back instead of lacing. I found my hook and eye tape, and some decorative hook and eyes as well. I used my green nail polish to go over the white hook and eyes, and I also did a little "enameling" on the decorative ones. I'll need to attach those...probably as soon as I get off the computer, then I can go and figure out the skirt placement. I've also got to do the shoulder rolls and make a decision on the forepart (if it's going to get done or not).
